So I live in Detroit and plan on traveling to many places at a time and sometimes by myself. Right now the way I plan to travel is through orbitz and it seems pretty cheap, but sometimes its super expensive. Like a flight from detroit to japan to australia to detroit is almost 5,000 bucks.

If I want to be a traveling fool what is the best way to go?

I plan on traveling for my first time to Australia soon. I plan on staying in Bendigo for a couple of days because I have a friend there.
