Can you travel to Canada with only your Green Card if your passport is expired?

Hi. My brother has a romanian passport, which has recently expired, yet he needs to travel with me to Canada. He’s a green card holder. Can he go and come back only with his Green Card? Thanks a lot.

    An alien resident of the usa enter that he does need passport to canadapassport from his nationality enter his home country needs his green card too to reenter the infoyou will see site below and click for few more months but no other.
