What do I need in order to travel internationally?

Hello everyone,

I am planning to potentially travel to Germany and/or Russia sometime soon, and since I have never traveled outside the US, I have a couple questions:

1. What will I need to obtain in order to travel internationally? Passports? Visas, etc?
2. How much do passports and visas cost, and how long do they take to obtain? Will I need one for each country I go to?

Any other tips will be helpful. Thanks!

   #1 a passport. Go to the post office and start the process right now.
   only certain countries require a visa and that takes several weeks to get.
